We welcomed two new backyard friends last night, Maude (our children call her China), and Sabine. A friend of ours moved and we've adopted their chickens. If you want your children to get tuckered out by the end of the evening, or all the bugs to be eaten in your backyard, I suggest adopting (or buying) some chickens.
Post Script: Sadly, Maude passed away. We believe she ingested something poisonous in our backyard while roaming. We held a small funeral procession. We hope to find her some new companions, before we leave on our vacation to the West.
