Nectarines, Preschool, and Home

When school starts this early in August, I wonder if Summer gets jealous of Fall jumping in a month early on her soiree?  I'm wondering what happened to our Summer. I've been struggling with how to manage our time, now that I'm attending school full time. There seems to be an urgency in my manner, where I always feel I have to rush things, and want to do everything on my own. I have been easily irritable, and impatient. As I was scrubbing down the food off the dinner table late, late last night, I took a long breather, I miss the rhythm of our family life.

Slowing things down this week.

We are in heads-over-heels in nectarines. I ordered a box with our bounty basket, and didn't realize I order ten pounds. Ten pounds? I cut down half the box, and froze them (smoothies, pies). For a quarter of them, we made spiced nectarine jam. I still have three pounds.

We are working on letter, and sound recognition with C. She has shown a large interest in writing. With D, if he isn't running a 100 miles a minute, basic pre-writing skills such as horizontal, vertical, and curvy lines. We are still potty training with him too. There isn't really a formal structure. I'm learning to be patient, and work at their pace.

In this picture, C writes a letter to me, and sings to me, "I love Mommy, she loves me We love Daddy, yes siree. He loves us and so you see. We're a Happy Family!" Oh, the sweet things they learn in Primary at church.
