"Love Me" Challenge
So, WHY ARE YOU DOING LOVE ME?
I want to value and appreciate who I am from within. I want to learn to love the inner beauty of me more than the elements of physical beauty. The most genuine and sincere hearts are the truly the hearts of some individuals that just shine! I feel like I let my physical beauty shine more than my heart.
I didn't like this photo because my first thought was, "I hate how big my arms look. The fat side of my face! Why do I wear t-shirts?!" I'm posting it because my son doesn't care what I looked like. He loves me regardless of what I think my flaws are. He thinks I am awesome because I wore a Star Wars t-shirt. We were at Disneyworld and I was worrying about how I looked. My husband has this as his screensaver on his phone. My son and husband loved this moment so why can't I.

Barcarolle
I have become a reborn romantic; walking the historical streets of down Charleston can do that to a woman. Last weekend's reveries and queries of old Charleston homes are dancing over and over in my head; the debutants, the horse-drawn carriages, and the grandeur. Sweet grandeur.
This remote, resonant, lingering feeling(whatever it may be)has followed me home. My newfoundlove and indiscriminate love for poetry has reignited.
I can't stop dancing to La Boheme and listening to Baracolle from "Les Contes d'Hoffman" by Offenbach (thisshortened and sweet version is astounding, and may be my favourite aria).
I want to revisit every Victorian heavies (Longfellow, Byron, Whittier, Tennyson) dutifully, and have my idyllic heart dance across the pages as it once did.
I am not sure how a 17th century city, a 18th century opera, or Victorian literature correlate, but thank you, Palmetto State, my writing subconscious seems to be waking.

A reluctant knitter
while in alaska, i taught myself to knit. however, i really only learned the basics; cast on, cast off, and made a few hundred scarves, and had given up on the task after nurturing little cosette. i decided to pick up my "I Taught Myself Knitting" book purchased from Joann's, and self teach myself again. as you can tell from my photo circa "07" and happy-go smirk, knitting ain't no joke.
i really wish i could knit more than scarves for the season. in fact, i would love to knit some warm *socks (hats, toys, even a block) for my babies, and have a reason to stash some beautiful fibers in the corners of my home. however, i realize i have to start back with the basics.
if you are a knitter, and have any books, blogs, suggestions, etc that could help me on this path to experience-knitter status, let me know.
wish me luck, and i'll be sure to let you in on my crafting endeavours.
*until than, i'll grew envious of these darling feet.

Dog Days
IT"S DONE. The sweat, strained muscles, exhaustion, stress, and the 'lil worrisomes attatched have diminished. I am expedient and rhapsodic. Summer can enclose me with her arms, and leave me her passionate kisses.
If there is one thing I dis-favour, and puts a hasty damper in my day- it's moving. I walked down the stairs of our current apartment and stared into a bleak, dreary oblivion, running with a million-and-one questions, "I need boxes. Where can I get tape? What will I rid myself of? Why did my husband leave me with all this moving? Who can help me? Who will watch my daughter?" I tend to run right-into-the-grind bridging into pestimestic reviews.
I wanted to spend the last month with the husband in great elation without hostility, without complaint or self-haughtiness. I told him to leave the moving to me (after he left). Of course, the husband offered repeatively that we "should" do it together. I declined, knowing the best of my intentions could be the worst. I did not want to his departure to be overbearing.
It's taken me the entire month of June; traveling to-and-from our current home to my in-laws in my little Toyota Camry. However, I can not take any of the credit. Thank you to B's family, 100 percent. Thank you to my parents for lending me their truck, and their services during the weekends. I suppose I am announcing just how much stuff I have.
I am done looking at brown, lifeless cardboard boxes. I am ready to bath in the waters of summer. I am ready to take spend more days lying in the grass, and contemplating about the smallness of me. I am overwhelmed and ecstatic to disburse all the lovin' to my family, and especially to my little dancing hair.
I hope you are having a most pleasurable summer as well :)
*The picture featured above was taken by my nostalgic husband. He adores nature hikes, and he knows my favourite pictures are those of me looking up from the bed of the earth.
