Viernes

Last night, I had one of those evenings that make hair pulling necessary. My children went to bed screaming, and crying up until the big hand read midnight. The husband and I bickered before he headed off to work, and no apologies were exchanged. Most of my evenings usually end with light reading, studying something, a classic/foreign movie, and relaxation-- the enlightenment phase as I see fit. Last night, I had the privity of eating two plates of cheese fries, watching past episodes of Project Runway, and Star Trek (yes, the 2009 J.J. Abrams version).

This morning, I woke up with the daughter's foot in my face, a little boy who had crawled into my arms(gesturing for me to scratch his back most of the morning) and a husband who somehow manage to puzzle himself in-between the craziness, but slept like a log.

I was not in the state or position in wanting to move, because everyone was a sleep. Silence is what my frazzled brain needed. My hand maneuvered itself to find the clicker, and I found myself watching old morning cartoons.

Tex Avery must have known what I needed. This is how I will always see "Largo Al Factotum". Watch closely at 3:10 and 3:25, the segue into those characters is dime, laughable, and quite charming.
